BRONZEVILLE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM

The only African-American children’s museum in the United States (founded in 1998), the Bronzeville Children’s Museum features an eclectic collection of fun-filled, hands-on exhibits that blend elements of Chicago’s black history and culture with practical life skills.

Kids learn about how prominent African-Americans influenced banking (Binga Bank), medicine/surgery (Provident Hospital) and science (ComEd/Bronzeville Gallery). The engaging “Motherland to Chicagoland” tour combines oral storytelling and music to illustrate the African-American journey to Chicago, and the “Food Becomes You/African-Americans in the Food Industry” gallery is augmented by a mock grocery store complete with faux food and checkout counters, so children can apply their knowledge into real life experiences.

The great fun of the Bronzeville Children’s Museum is guaranteed to give the entire family something to talk about for years to come! Experience it by visiting www.bronzevillechildrensmuseum.com for more information.
